In pairs or small groups, students select topic to be explained. (You will need at least 1 camera operator at all times if using a digital camera.)
Students plan their project using index cards, storyboard, script, or outline
Students practice their HowTo
Students create HowTo
Option 1 - Use iPad App
Students use a digital camera/video camera if needed
Students create their HowTo using ShowMe, Explain Everything, iMovie or another similar app
Option 2 - Use a laptop
Students film or photograph their HowTo
Students use iMovie, GarageBand, Camtasia, MovieMaker, Photostory, Flip software, etc. to edit their HowTo
Students export their HowTo to a format usaable on a class wiki or blog.
Students upload their finished HowTo to the class wiki or blog. Or, better yet, create a class/school Multimodal Math Wiki "Textbook"
Students comment on videos using blog/wiki tools
Optional - Get outside "experts" to comment on the students videos, possibly getting those experts to help develop a 2.0 version of the video.
